Favorite Locations – North Shore

Where does one begin? Being here for over 12 years, I have a love of nature and can appreciate the power and majestic beauty of Lake Superior. While most people who visit do not move here, some do. There are certainly lots of trails and parks within the City of Duluth to go thru. Up the shore there are even more. So while these favorites may change depending on the season, for an elopement or small wedding – they are fabulous!

First Up – Lester Park – Here in Duluth. If you drive on Occidental Blvd you will actually end up on the original skyline highway with many historic bridges. In the spring, the volume of water can be deafening, but the beauty of nature with the bright green leaves growing on the trees, the birds busily chirping and calling to each other and many spots to observe nature makes this a great location all year round.

Lester Park is underated for weddings. While most tourist enjoy the main entrance area, don’t be afraid to explore Occidental Blvd or the paths leading away from the main parking area. While there are people hiking and you might come across an avid photographer, a couple getting married or just wildlife (deer, chipmunks) you will have a hard time this park is surround by the city.

Lester Park has so many options. From a cedar tree lined path, to the ground blanketed in needles, to water running over the rocks, there is something for everyone. For Micro Weddings, it is easy to get to and for friends/family with mobility issues the terrain is not extreme. Just a short few minute walk to get to either of the above locations. There are benches through out the park as well.
